Overview
A 750-hectare project across the Sine Saloum and Casamance deltas
Lep-lep was scoped as a 750-hectare mangrove restoration project across the Sine Saloum and Casamance deltas in Senegal, two of West Africa's most productive coastal ecosystems.
460 hectares were ground-truthed in collaboration with local Marine Protected Area chapters, and 5 hectares were test-planted with local communities. The project is currently under Vlinder’s strategic review.

Lep-lep is designed to combine mangrove restoration with socio-economic development for vulnerable coastal communities in Senegal.
The project is planned to create local jobs, alternative income opportunities and new revenue streams, while building community skills in mangrove restoration and long-term ecosystem stewardship.
